Yes - Splitide is completely free to use. Create as many trips as you like, add unlimited expenses, and split with your whole group at no cost.
Do I need an account? Does everyone in my group?
You'll create a free account (email or Google) so your trips are saved and stay in sync. To join a trip and add their own expenses, each member creates a free account too - you invite them in seconds with a link or QR code.
Can Splitide handle different currencies?
Absolutely. Enter each payment in the currency it was made in and Splitide converts it to your trip's currency automatically - perfect for multi-country trips.
How does Splitide split the costs?
For every expense you pick who paid and how to split it - equally among everyone, or a custom amount per person. Splitide then shows each person's balance and the simplest set of payments to make everyone square.
Does Splitide handle the actual payments?
No - Splitide is a calculator, not a bank. It shows who owes whom; you settle up however you like (cash, bank transfer, or your favourite payment app). No money ever passes through Splitide.

Do I need to install anything?
No - Splitide works in any web browser. If you'd like it on your home screen you can install the web app from your browser menu, and dedicated Android and iOS apps are on the way.
